El volcán Taal, según ha informado el Instituto de Vulcanología y Sismología de Filipinas, ha registrado 43 seísmos volcánicos desde las 08:00 horas del miércoles a las 08:00 horas del jueves (hora local). El número de seísmos registrados del martes al jueves fue de solo 21. Dos de ellos, que tuvieron lugar a las 17:08 horas (hora local) y 15:29 horas (hora local) del miércoles, fueron sentidos con intensidad I y acompañados por sonidos. Especialmente, fueron sentidos por los residentes en Pira-piraso, en las islas Vulcano y en Talisay, Batangas.
El índice de alerta del volcán, según Phivolcs, permanece en el uno debido a las condiciones anormales del volcán y se aumentó al uno el 28 de marzo de 2019.
En base a las mediciones de campo realizadas el pasado 29 de agosto de 2019, el sector este del principal lago central, ha sufrido una bajada en la temperatura del agua de 32,6ºC a 32,3ºC, así como una disminución en el nivel del agua de 0,42 metros a 0,39 metros. También se ha observado una menor acidez del agua de un pH de 2,78 a un pH de 2,78.
Con respecto a la deformación del suelo, se ha observado un ligero inflado, según los datos facilitados por el GPS.
Si bien no se prevé una erupción inminente, se recuerda al público que el volcán es capaz de generar gases volcánicos tóxicos, así como explosiones de vapores volcánicos repentinas. Se prohíbe aproximarse al cráter principal. Toda la isla es un peligro y permanecer en ella de forma permanente está estrictamente prohibido.
