Un destructivo tornado atraviesa Dallas causando daños importantes.
Un destructivo tornado, calificado como un EF-2, ha atravesado Dallas el domingo por la noche, causando daños materiales importantes en estructuras y torres de electricidad. Las autoridades han pedido a la población que se abstenga de acercarse a las zonas afectadas y que dejen libres las carreteras para los servicios de emergencias que están trabajando en reparar las carreteras principales.
Un destructivo tornado atraviesa Dallas causando daños importantes. Según ha explicado el Servicio Nacional de Meteorología de los Estados Unidos, el tornado tocó tierra sobre las 21:30 horas (hora local) cerca del aeropuerto Love Field, antes de dirigirse hacia el noreste, atravesando la ciudad.
Afortunadamente, hasta las 00:20 horas (hora local) del día siguiente, 21 de octubre de 2019, al parecer no se habían registrado daños personales, hasta que, por desgracia, el sistema tormentoso se desplazó por Arkansas, causando la muerte de una persona. La fatalidad se produjo cuando cayó un árbol sobre una casa cerca de la línea de Misuri.
Otros daños causados por el tornado
El tornado ha dañado la fachada del Floors Masters en el Harry Hines Boulevard, al sur de Walnut Hill Lane. También han sufrido daños materiales graves un centro comercial cerca de Marsh y Walnut Hill Lane. Al mismo tiempo, se informa de daños materiales en la barriada de St. Michaels Drive, al norte de Royal Lane, donde el viento ha derribado árboles y líneas eléctricas, por lo que la policía ha tenido que cerrar las calles al tráfico.
En Richardson, cerca del Richland College, se han registrado daños materiales importantes, con árboles desprendidos y varios tejados desprendidos.
En la zona metropolitana de Dallas/Forth Worth, más de 100.000 usuarios están sufriendo apagones eléctricos.
Debido a los daños importantes sufridos, el Dallas Independent School District canceló sus clases para este lunes.
Se había activado una advertencia de tornado para algunas zonas de Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas y Luisiana, hasta las 10:00 horas (hora local) del 21 de octubre de 2019.
Si resides en las zonas afectadas, se ha informado que el Centro Bacham Recreation Center se encuentra disponible como albergue para los damnificados.
