La Agencia Estatal de Meteorología de España ha emitido un nuevo comunicado especial en el día de hoy para informar acerca de la ola de calor histórica que está afectando a toda España, excepto al área Cantábrica y buena parte de Galicia.
Según la Aemet, esta situación comenzó el miércoles, 11 de agosto de 2021, y se espera que dure hasta el lunes, 16 de agosto (hasta el martes, 17 de agosto en Canarias).
El grado de probabilidad de que se produzca esta previsión es del 80%, es decir, muy alto. Además, ya se ha confirmado que numerosas provincias de la península están sufriendo temperaturas máximas realmente muy altas.
Según ha explicado la Agencia, la irrupción continuada sobre la Península y Baleares de una masa de aire muy cálido, procedente del norte de África, junto con la fuerte insolación propia de estas fechas, está dando lugar a temperaturas muy altas. Tanto las máximas como las mínimas están por encima de los valores normales en verano en gran parte de la Península y en Baleares. No se verán afectadas por esta situación el área Cantábrica y buena parte de Galicia.
Hoy sábado, 14 de agosto de 2021, es el día álgido de esta ola de calor, por lo que la previsión es que los termómetros sigan subiendo, especialmente en el valle del Ebro, interior del País Vasco y norte de Navarra, así como en el interior este peninsular y en Andalucía Occidental. Se superan los 42ºC en amplias zonas del centro, interior nordeste, oeste y sur peninsular, destacando los 43ºC en el valle del Ebro y los 46ºC en puntos del valle del Guadalquivir.
Las temperaturas nocturnas también serán bastante altas, cerca de los 25ºC (o superiores) en el sur peninsular y en el centro. En el resto de las zonas, serán de unos 20ºC.
Desde la Aemet explican que esta ola de calor viene acompañada por la presencia de polvo en suspensión, consecuencia del gran recorrido por el desierto del Sáhara de la masa de aire cálida antes de entrar en la Península y en Baleares.
También existe la posibilidad de que tengan lugar tormentas en zonas de la mitad oriental peninsular, en su mayor parte secas, pero que podrían ir acompañadas de fuertes rachas de viento y, de forma puntual, también de granizo y de abundante aparato eléctrico.
Recomendamos tomar precauciones especiales en caso de tormentas eléctricas y refugiarse en el interior de las casas, evitando exponerse al aire libre.
Se espera que la ola de calor empiece a remitir a partir del domingo, en el tercio norte peninsular, que irá extendiéndose posteriormente durante los días siguientes al resto de la Península y Baleares.
El lunes, el descenso de las temperaturas seguirá en buena parte de la Península y Baleares, aunque todavía es probable que las temperaturas máximas sean altas en Andalucía y en el sudeste.
Ya será el martes cuando el descenso de las temperaturas sea generalizado y pueda darse por terminado el episodio de ola de calor.
Con respecto a Canarias, la masa cálida procedente de África sigue extendiéndose hacia el oeste, continuando el episodio de calor en las islas, hasta el martes, 17 de agosto. Hoy sábado, posiblemente alcancen los 39ºC en zonas del interior de Gran Canaria, los 37ºC en las islas orientales y los 35ºC en el resto. Las temperaturas serán significativamente altas incluso en zonas litorales. Las mínimas también serán altas, superando los 24ºC, e incluso puntualmente de 30ºC. El ascenso térmico seguirá el domingo, manteniéndose valores altos el lunes, y probablemente también el martes. Las temperaturas altas coincidirán con la presencia de polvo en suspensión, produciendo calimas.
